I decided to get into massage after 16 years of being a medical assistant, lab tech and phlebotomist. I felt that I needed a change in my profession and wanted to help people the natural way. I decided to go to The Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins in 2005 to get my massage degree. After I graduated another massage therapist took me under their wing and taught me about pain relief massage for four months. Since graduating I also took courses on whiplash, neck pressure points, reiki, and doula. By receiving massage myself on a regular basis I am constantly discovering new and different techniques. I love finding new ways to help people and get them on the road to healing.
Throughout my career I have helped many people, but one that stands out was a client with a serious sciatic problem. When he first came in he had to hold on to everything just to walk to the room, and then when got into the room I had to help him onto the table. After the massage he got off the table by himself, and walked around the room unassisted! I think my favorite thing about massage is when someone gets off the table and there is an "Ah Ha!" moment.
Being a Colorado native, I was born in Loveland, I love the outdoors. When I'm not working you can find me camping, riding my bike, reading or traveling.
