Massage has always been something that I have gravitated towards. Even before I attended school for massage therapy, I was practicing my techniques on family and friends. At the age of 21 my older brother suffered a severe back injury. After years of pain and discomfort we made the difficult decision to send him into surgery. That decision still bothers us today. I remember trying my best to ease his daily pain with the few massage techniques I had experimented with. It was never enough, and I felt frustrated at not being able to do more for him. It was with my big brother as inspiration I decided to finally receive some formal training.
I attended the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2000. I became fascinated with the power of touch. The body has an amazing ability to heal itself, and with the addition of massage techniques, can be the most efficient system it can possibly be. I take pride in providing relief from chronic pain symptoms. I enjoy teaching others how to be more aware of the messages their body is telling them. The style of massage I practice is a deep tissue, neuromuscular type of massage to help break bad posture habits and create new, more efficient ones. Massage therapy will always be a part of my life, both giving and receiving. |
